This weekend I was lucky enough to score free tickets to Party in the Park, a family music festival at Temple Newsam in Leeds. Friends and family headed over to the grounds of the stately home together and it was a great day enjoyed by all.
The title of this post is dedicated to Labrinth’s song of the same title which the artist performed on the day, and he was by far my favourite act of Party in the Park. If you haven’t heard of him, I definitely recommend you listen to his tracks! Other musicians that played include Wretch 32 (another favourite), Taio Cruz, Professor Green and DJ Fresh – and they all smashed it!
Festival season is well and truly underway and the sun has finally decided to shine in the UK. When you head into the muddy fields though, it can be hard to eat healthily, as most food stalls offer fries, burgers and hot dogs. So here is my advice to survive the festival season and stick to a healthy way of life!
1. Pack a Picnic
If you know you are going to want to eat at the festival, forget about spending too much money on over-priced, sub-standard fried foods and take a picnic instead. You can pack sandwiches, snacks and deserts that you have pre-chosen to suit your healthy lifestyle!
2. Stay Hydrated
Standing out in the sun all day can leave you seriously dehydrated so it is essential that you keep your body topped up with fluids, preferably the non-alcoholic kind. Take a bottle of water with you, or buy one there if you can’t take bottles into the festival grounds. £3 may seem like a lot to spend, but you will be grateful if it means avoiding sun-stroke!
3. Get down and boogie
You are going to be listening to some fantastic live music (hopefully) so make the most of it and put your dancing shoes/wellington boots on. Not only will you have a great time but you will burn some serious calories too!
